Artistic Statement

When the notion of “home” lost its meaning, my artistic journey began with a sense of solitude that led me into the digital realm. There, I found connection with myself, with my skills, with a new community, and with a growing set of creative tools. Art became a bridge between inner experience and external reality, a way to be heard.

Since 2022, following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, my practice has taken on a new dimension. As a Ukrainian woman forced to leave her home, I began to perceive the fractures, conflicts, and vulnerabilities of society with particular sensitivity. The images I create are born at the intersection of cultural code and personal history. My aim is to reflect on these societal shifts through poetic language and to visualize them through animation, transforming personal experience into a foundation for collective understanding.

In my practice, I explore semantic transformations of visual language, where algorithms serve not merely as tools, but as partners in dialogue. With the emergence of second-generation AI systems, I began to sense that I was no longer interacting with code, but with a mirror, one that reveals unexpected aspects of the self.

Still, the human remains the point of origin. I operate the machine, but I am the one who imbues its output with meaning, emotion, and conceptual intention. The algorithm sets the rhythm; I shape the narrative, determine the tone, and guide the artistic enquiry.

My compositions are layered: visually, semantically, and emotionally. They may take the form of digital collages, animations, video fragments, or texts, but always they revolve around the same core: vulnerability, memory, femininity, and time refracted through the lens of digital media.

The themes I work with include:

🔹 Self-reflection through interaction with algorithms: AI as a tool of emotional intelligence
🔹 Femininity and technology: exploring the intersection of intuitive feminine nature and algorithmic structures
🔹 The potential of poetic language and visual art to speak to socially urgent topics through personal experience, especially that of minorities and those who empathize with the harmed
🔹 AI ethics: who defines the moral compass of machines?
🔹 Technological singularity and the paradox of AGI as both assistant and weapon

Currently, my focus lies in seeking new visual and poetic languages that can express the essence of what is happening, its hidden meanings and emotional resonances. I aim to uncover artistic approaches that help communicate complex social experiences with clarity and sensitivity.

A vital part of my current path is participating in creative groups and residencies. It is essential for me to be part of an artistic community—to collaborate with other artists and researchers, and to expand my perspective through shared creative processes.

My work does not offer ready-made answers, it is a search for questions, for resonance, for empathy, which I seek to shape into sharp, visceral animation.
